Leave a margin for trimming

Printers call it 'bleed'. Extend your background 3 mm past the edge on every side so the trimmed piece has no white edges.

If your file doesn't have bleed yet, choose 'My file has no bleed, please add it for me'.

Thicker paper feels more substantial in the hand. A matte coating looks clean and modern, while a gloss coating makes colours pop.

Make the file bigger than the order, and keep content away from the edge

One more time for the record: add 3 mm of bleed on every side, because the cutting blade can shift slightly within standard tolerance. Then inset text and logos another 3 mm from the trim edge — your piece will come out clean and safe.
